Sitting majestically on one of the highest points of Helshoogte Pass, Cloud's estate is a stylish  hotel surrounded by incredible views of mountains, vineyards , beautiful lush and the most important- luxurious villas that are blend of luxury with modern amenities and a memories that stay with you all your life. Another big reason to stay here is that this estate produces its own wines! We had recently published a post on Stellenbosch by Niyati and here is back with her review on Cloud's estate which is truly a gem in the garden route of South Africa!

Let us begin the tour!

The entrance is impressive with a road elevated,  much further up, after you enter the estate to the reception of the Villas. We were greeted with welcome drinks at the patio of the reception overlooking the pool and the valley.

The patio opens into the pool and a luscious garden with a fantastic view of mountains, exactly the things Garden route in South Africa is famous for. In all, Clouds' estate has 7 hotel rooms and 5 deluxe villas.

The view of the Rooms......

The hotel rooms look out into a beautiful valley. Amenities inside the rooms include a coffee machine, Smart TV, i-pad docking station, satellite TV and Blu-Ray DVD. Bathrooms offer Premium toiletries, a high-quality hairdryer, flip-flops and heated towel rails.

Every room is equipped with complimentary mini-bar stocked with Clouds' wine, beer, soft drinks and fruit juice. Breakfast is included in the hotel room rates and can be added to the villa rates as well.

The rooms are divided into Standard, luxury, deluxe and premium. Rates vary from R1900- R6400 per night inclusive of Breakfast, depending upon low and peak season.

Deluxe Villas
The villas were designed to offer panoramic view of the landscape and the architecture in wood, glass and natural material give you perfect vistas owing to floor-to-ceiling sliding doors. This ensures that nature-gazing never stops even if you are inside the room.

The doors cum windows open into a huge and spacious balcony with seating overlooking the mountain views and vineyards

During winters, balconies are perfect spot to soak some warmth of the sun. A perfect way to start a perfect day at this perfect place would be with a steaming hot cup of coffee
prepared right in the tiny kitchenette. Kitchenettes of the villas are well equipped for self catering. They have a full size fridge which offers complimentary bottles of Clouds' wine along with fruit juices and soft drinks, stove top, oven, microwave, Nespresso maker, kettle and enough crockery and cutlery.

The lounge consists of couches, a sofa cum bed, television, a dining table that seats up to six persons and two comfortable chairs. TV is in the lounge but not in the bedroom. Air conditioning in summer and underfloor heating in the winter months make for perfect temperature inside the room during all seasons. The bedroom has a king size bed.

The bathrooms have luxurious toiletries, a high-quality hairdryer, complimentary flip-flops and heated towel rails with two big wash basins and separate shower cabin
Villa rates vary from R2700- R4600 depending on the season. Tariff is quoted per villa per night on two-persons sharing whereas breakfast is charged separately. The pool of this hotel are stunning against the backdrop of vineyards and mountain

Food

Cloud's estate serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily in its restaurant but the menu is seasonal as it's prepared fresh and with local ingredients thus limiting the options as well. Vegetarians may find it particularly difficult to choose from the spread as there are hardly any options for them. Dessert choices however are great here. One can also go to nearby hotels like Delaire Graff for a sumptuous meal.
